Icebergs are comprised of pure, fresh water, they float because the density of ice is less than the sea water.
9/10 of an iceberg's mass is below water. It takes an iceberg about 2-3 years to reach the island of Newfounland from Greenland, a distance of 1,800 nautical miles.
The terms, tabular, blocky, wedge, dome, pinnacle and drydock are used to describe iceberg shapes. The average iceberg weight for the Grand Banks is one to two hundred thousand tonnes.
The area from the southern Grand Banks of Newfounland is referred to as "Iceberg Alley". Then we drove to there to watch this gift from God's prodigious skill. The weather was change warm.Sunny day.

Ha Ha. you are two little peguins if I look like a peguin.Of the first time when we drove by the ocean side. I saw three very big, light blue,looked like the enormous building in the ocean. I told dad that may be they are icebergs. But dad didn't agree. He keep to said that: No No No. they are the hydro factory of nuclear, or some kind's building......" Then I wanted he stop to watch clear, By he was very hurry to drive to North to watch the icebergs.Ha HA.He was to seek far and wide for what lies close at hand.Then we lost the chance to take that pictures to show to you. Sorry.
